| Fish and Chips - Did you know? |
|
"Thanks
for your email enquiry. The fish we have traditionally used for Snapper is
called Bluespot Emperor. Bluespot Emperor used to be called Small Nor West
Snapper. The Western Australian Fisheries Department changed the name to
Bluespot Emperor some years ago. Technically it is incorrect for us to
call Bluespot Emperor "Snapper". As we have a policy of calling fish
by their correct names we resisted having "Snapper and Chips" on the
menu as a generic/historical heading while using a fish that was no longer
classified as Snapper. Other Snappers such as Pink and King have to be sold at
over $18.00 per serve which is too pricey for many consumers. If
you were used to buying Snapper and chips from us, order Bluespot Emperor and
chips and you will be getting the same product as before. I hope this helps." |
